Typically, the size of your unit should depend on what you plan to store in it. You want to invest in a space that holds everything without squishing and damaging your items, but isn’t too large that you have tons of space leftover. 

If you just plan to have a few boxes here and there of seasonal items, a smaller unit that’s around 5’ x 5’ could suffice. On the other hand, if you plan on storing a house-worth of furniture, it’s better to invest in a larger unit, such as a 10’ x 20’.

Yes. Storage Center offers several storage unit sizes to help you find one that perfectly fits your personal belongings. If, over time, your needs change and your collection of items gets smaller or larger, we will work with you to find a better-suited unit. Available units may vary depending on facility location.

It depends on which facility and what type of unit you choose to rent with us. Our indoor climate-controlled units are lighted, but our outdoor ones are not. None of our units have electricity. 

When a storage unit is climate-controlled it means the temperature is regulated inside the unit to maintain a pleasant room temperature (around 60-75 degrees). This also doubles as moisture control because the steady temperature prevents moisture buildup from steam or condensation. 

The main reasoning behind climate control is to stop adverse weather conditions or extreme temperatures from ruining delicate materials being stored in the unit.

No. Storage Center does not let our tenants keep vehicles in their units for safety and liability reasons. You can, however, store furniture or large, bulky household items.

All of Storage Center’s storage facilities are equipped with high-grade security technology. Every unit uses keypad security that is only accessible with a personal PIN code that you set up.

Additionally, we use video surveillance with a 24/7 live and recorded video feed to deter unwanted activity or catch anything suspicious. Your possessions will be safe and secure with us.

Yes. All of Storage Center’s facilities provide 24/7 access to the buildings and units. No matter the time of day, you will be able to get to your belongings so long as you have your PIN code.

Yes. Our main office located on 224 Broad Street doubles as a full-service storage supplies retail store. You can purchase all types of packing and storage equipment, including:

• Moving boxes
• Mattress bags
• Bubble wrap
• Pad locks
• Dish saver kits
• Wardrobe boxes

Yes. Storage Center is a part of the U-Haul Self-Storage Affiliate Network, which means all of our facilities in Martinsville have U-Haul rentals available on site. Anyone can rent a truck or trailer depending on your needs.

Insurance is not required to rent a storage unit with Storage Center – it is the responsibility of the tenant to decide to get their personal property covered.

However, we do recommend investing in insurance for your belongings as a fail-safe. Our indoor climate-controlled storage units can keep the temperature inside regulated, but our outdoor units can’t. If something breaks or gets ruined, insurance can help you get it replaced.
